The Toyota Yaris is a vehicle that has been prestamos personales con veraz much universally panned by the performance aftermarket. Can you really blame the aftermarket though? The Yaris was not designed for any sort of fun nor would it win any beauty contests. What the Yaris has been designed for is to be a bare bones B-Segment people mover, trundling meat sacks from point A to point B with the lowest possible operating costs.
That being said, the B-Segment has been received with little excitement in the US market. When the segment first started to make its appearance, it was initially felt that these would be the cars that young people would flock to and there was a burst of enthusiasm with a magazine launched around the segment and even a racing class for the new sub, subcomapcts. Instead not too many cared. The magazine quickly died and the racing class has never gotten traction despite acceptance from just about all the racing sanctioning bodes.
Only a few young people embraced the cars with most either not getting into cars at all or coveting used older but more sporty models of the late great sport compact craze. There has not been much enthusiast love for slow, tall, narrow and stubby cars that when modified at best look like a chibi style cartoon of a modified car. Sorta like how a homely girl can look good with the right clothes, hair and makeup. The main problem with the Yaris from an enthusiast standpoint has been the horse power output of its miserly 1.
Why bother you might wonder, well the one thing the Yaris has going for it is a sub lb curb weight! In the world where there is something special for everyone, even homely girls need to find loving. The one power added for the Yaris that does something substantial has been the Blitz supercharger kit. The kit has been around for a few years and has been imported to the states in small numbers and sold by places like by Vivid Racing and EDO. I would take any other upgrade suggestions you guys would E-mail to me,thanks for your work.
This kit is now dosconituned, you can find them used on Japanese Auctions. We run one our project Vitz here in Australia, Gorilla Industires. Its been a great upgrade and in 4 years and multiple track days, I have had not a single issue. I love driving this over my hp Supra lol! Ive bought a amr supercharger and it will be installed in a 1nzfe What other mods should i do to have a reliable running car example what should i change…. Im guessing the stock fuel pump would be okay to handle around hp….

The Blitz Yaris Supercharger is a small positive displacement roots blower. It is not unique or trick in any other way than its tiny size. It is a two lobe, straight rotor, external compression design, no twisted or spiral rotors with efficiency gaining internal compression, just a good old fashioned roots blower.
Unfortunately, even the smallest 6th generation Eatons are too big for this application. What is cool about the Blitz Yaris supercharger is that it is controlled by an electronic clutch. The clutch looks like a heavier duty air conditioning compressor clutch and it possibly is taken from some other OEM heavy duty application.Their focus has been to produce high quality performance products for the aftermarket that can endure the daily grind and still perform when needed.
BLITZ has a large range of performance parts and has become a serious player in the tuner market. They continue to hone their high performance parts using real world street car and professional racing results. BLITZ has some great superchargers kits available for the tuner market.

Fuel economy is not dramatically affected under cruising conditions since the clutch to the supercharger is left idle and not drawing a load on the pulley system. Making horsepower is simple right? Slap on an air filter, exhaust and header system and gain 20 hp, right? Well, not really. That may have been true a decade ago when manufacturers still used cast-iron headers and crimp-bent exhaust systems to lower production costs. Today trying to squeeze extra horses from a late-model import engine can be a bit more challenging.
Installing an aftermarket exhaust, header and filter might gain only 10 hp and that is if you're lucky. Many vehicles rolling off the production line already incorporate a tubular header system and mandrel-bent exhaust, laying down a major challenge to the aftermarket. For instance, we squeezed an additional 8. Beyond the simple exhaust and air filter bolt-on, finding performance products for the current-generation Celica '00 and up is not an easy proposition.
Fortunately for us, our next bolt-on part was already in the on-deck circle before we took delivery of the Celica as a project vehicle. Having worked closely with Blitz North America, we were able to get our hands on a supercharger kit for the Celica, the first in the States. Upon first inspection, we were immediately impressed with the extra large, front-mount air-to-air intercooler that comes standard in the kit. Trademark to most Japan intercoolers, the Blitz unit utilizes a tube-and-fin design for heat dissipation of the charge air.
Pressure drop is crucial, considering the boost pressure is limited to 0. Testing by Blitz engineers has resulted in only a. On our supercharged Celica, we noticed peak boost pressure at the throttle body was 0. The intercooler measures over two feet Also standard in the supercharger kit is a new cast-aluminum intake manifold and oil pan. Both components are key pieces in the supercharger's installation. However, most impressive was the reprogrammed factory ECU.
Unlike many force-induction kits that typically utilize an aftermarket pump and boost dependent regulator for fuel enrichment, the Blitz supercharger kit incorporates a reprogrammed factory ECU for complete fuel and ignition tuning, which is critical considering the Toyota's single-line fule system.
The Blitz ECU creates more precise tuning and eliminates the chances of overloading the cylinder with fuel, commonly a problem with pump and regulator systems.
Also, the chances of detonating from being too advanced on ignition timing or pre-ignition from too much retard is nonexistent. Upon installation of the supercharger, we noticed the entire installation manual was in Japanese. Don't worry. Blitz is working on a U.
Fortunately, there were plenty of pictures to guide us through the installation. The kit required relocation of the alternator underneath the air conditioning pump. It actually mounted directly to the new oil pan. The kit also came with an extension harness for the alternator, so we didn't need to cut and extend the electrical wires.
After installing the oil pan and relocating the alternator everything was pretty straightforward. The supercharger mounted with all the corresponding brackets and the intricate pulley system was all tied together with the supplied drive belt. Besides removing the factory ECU to install the reprogrammed unit, the only other wiring that needed to be installed was the relay to activate the clutch on the supercharger. The only tricky part was contouring the factory dipstick tube around the supercharger outlet.I would take any other upgrade suggestions you guys would E-mail to me,thanks for your work.

The 1NZ-FE is a close relative to the engine used in the Priusthe main difference is the Prius has a compression ratio and the variable cam timing is re-mapped to make the engine run on the Atkinson cycle.
To help withstand the high compression ratios in the Prius, the 1NZ-FE has somewhat sturdy internals which helps the Yaris when equipped with a supercharger.
This electronic box controls the Blitz Supercharger's compressor clutch. The fuel pressure regulator fits on top of the stock fuel pump located in the gas tank. These two parts are the extent of the engine management used. This knob inside the glovebox controls the electronic clutch on the blower regulating boost pressure to a high and low position. We know that the JDM intercooled version of this kit runs at 7 psi so we are guessing that this kit may run somewhat less boost.
The Blitz Yaris put out almost 89 whp and Our dyno is very conservative so expect about 30 more whp on a Dynojet for a low powered car like this. We think the Supercharger is probably good for about whp over stock on our dyno which is more than any other mod you could get for this platform short of a semi custom turbo kit. The power gains are typical of a supercharger, board and across the board which makes the car faster than the peak numbers might indicate.
The Yaris was very tastefully modified with a nice looking aero kit and a functional ride height. The Blitz supercharger kit has proven to be very reliable. Even with rudimentary engine management the car can take all day beatings on the track no problem. That is more than can be said with most aftermarket FI kits! Previous page 1 2 3 Next page. Please help with the wiring.
My kit never came with instructions. This supercharger kit has been discontinued from Blitz, although some websites still list it in their catalog. The other is a turbocharger kit from Greddy Trust. The compressor used in this kit is made by Ogura, and from what my hours of googling and tracking down barely surviving forums from the early s, it is a TX It appears to be very similar to the SC12 used on the 4AGZE, which to my understanding was also manufacturing by Ogura back in the day.
However, the TX12 may be updated and flow better than the SC Essentially, the faster the engine turns, the more boost the supercharger will make to a certain extent. So, at a certain point, boost needs to be bled off.
When this supercharger kit was sold new, it came with a wire-in fuel controller and supercharger clutch controller. Essentially what this does is goes to the TPS, MAF, injectors, ignition, etc and alters the signals to piggyback control the fuel and ignition system for the supercharger.
The whole kit was designed to be installed on an Altezza using the stock engine management. This was somewhat innovative for the time, however, now that there is better engine management options, I am excited to see what I can accomplish with my standalone ECU. Share this: Twitter Facebook.
